Can the ALP be reformed? An excellent online panel debate, attended by 450 people, run by Open Labor, Per Capita and The John Cain Institute. There was an intense online audience questions and electrifying chats and three great presentations. Exciting to see a dignified online democracy, learning, debate in full ALP swing… hundreds of flowers blooming…
Open Labor recognises the gravity of the issues raised in a communication from Kasuni Mendis regarding diversity of panelists in representing black, indigenous and people of colour on the panel and will seek to redress this issue in future events.
The Panel
- Federal MP Andrew Giles of the Left
- Former Federal Speaker Anna Burke who represented the right in parliament
- Non-aligned Labor historian Janet McCalman
- Moderator, Open Labor Convenor James Button
