John Cain Foundation: Australia's Political System - a Deficit in Trust
In 2016 Dr Colleen Lewis was commissioned by the John Cain Foundation to report on the parlous state of political donations in Australia. At this lunch Professor Lewis will update her report. What, if anything, has changed? She will lead a Q&A discussion, facilitated by John Cain Foundation Director Maxine McKew, on the reasons for the deep, universal distrust in all aspects of our political system.
Dr Colleen Lewis is an Adjunct Professor in the National Centre for Australian Studies, Monash University and a Director of the Accountability Round Table. Her current research interests include anti-corruption bodies, political donations, lobbying, and the causes and consequences of the trust deficit in Australian politics.
